How to save a YouTube video on your phone

Copy the video link, compare the available formats, and find the saved file on iPhone or Android.

Open the video in YouTube, choose Share and copy its link. Paste that link into shortsdlyt.app. Check the preview before choosing a format.

Choose a suitable format

MP4 is a useful starting point for many phones. Available resolutions depend on the original video and what the source currently exposes. A higher resolution usually means a larger download. Some videos need separate picture and sound streams merged before the file is ready.

Find your file

On iPhone, check the Downloads location in Files. On Android, open the Downloads folder in your file manager. If the browser opens the file instead of saving it, use its download or share menu.

If a link fails

Check that the video is public and that you copied one video link, rather than a playlist. Private, paid, age-restricted or unavailable content may not work. Temporary platform restrictions can also interrupt preparation. Save only media you are entitled to download.
